d16a6 turbo project
i will soon be gathering all the things i need to do a turbo on my d16a6. anyone have any good sites? it will be a junkyard turbo, btw. i have checked out homemadeturbo.com. anyone know what a good boost level is?? im guessing 6-8psi with stock internals. anyone have a d16a6 turbo setup?? tips or any advice would be great
had one (well, two) and managed to blow both up with too much boost when i thought i knew plenty...a lot had to do with Electromotive TEC II and the lack of user-friendliness, but i know a little bit even tho its been a while.6-8 lbs. manageable but take care with anything more.
tuning is everything and you should have fuel management that is boost dependent as you dont want to hog out on fuel at low rpms or lean out at higher r's. really you need a dyno with wideband air/fuel to be most efficient. you might find 411 with people using your fuel management as starting points, but don't come to rely on them totally since all motors are diff.
well, i wont run on...
