ok. i have a b18b1 turbo. have not touched anything on it with in like 8 months...

tuned by a shop 14psi tune 340whp 298fpt.

so i could dump 1,2,3 and it would just get it..

NOW. i launch 1st and it's good... and top of first it crackles does not sputter but sorta backfire sounding at peek... 2nd runs good but at top of 2nd crackles as well... and 3rd does same.... no sputtering or anything...

i was thinking at high boost fuel pump not putting out at max like it's going out?

or fuel filter is half way clogged?

or what else?

mine was doing the same at top end but i did a valve adjustment and it was all good

few things i have had todo over the years with diff turbo cars once i start getting break up.

re tune due to going from very hot summer to very cold winter.

tune up- plugs, dizzy parts, wires etc etc. burn up faster with boost and your driving habits.

bad gas?

what fuel pump are u using. if u are using oem it couldbe getting burnt out.. hopefully u have upgraded to a walbro

i believe it was bad gas... put injector cleaner/fuel treatment and higher octane stuff...
installed catch can tighten up all my cuplings, new filter on catch can, new filter on valve cover, adjusted pressure of my BOV,

i took it out a few mins ago after working on it all day banning the hell out of it (after it warmed up).... 1-4 pulls hard... crept up to 15/16 in 3rd gear at high rpm.
