Major Electrical Problem - Motor cuts out
I have a 97 Prelude that I turboed and did the wiring for all the gauges. Randomly when I am driving around the motor will just die, all other electrical powered devices are still on (lights, stereo, gauges, ect.). It happens sometimes when I first try to start it as well. When I go to start it back up sometimes it will fire up fine, but most of the time it will crank and die right away. I have to try a few times to get it to run and sometimes it doesn't even run. I am pretty sure it is an electrical issue and I am going to check my wiring, but does anyone have any ideas? What should I check for possible causes?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Im thinking its something with your spark(ignition) or fuel. Did you chip your ecu and tune it right? Its ether your ecu freaking out or you did something with the wires when you were wiring your gauges
This is a relatively common problem. The ignition switch was recalled, see if it's been done in your car. Some people even with the recall done have the problem recur years later. Whatever the case, it most likely is the problem and needs to be replaced.
