Default Suspension question

I have skunk2 springs that lower my car about 3 3/4 and make it ride like garbage. I bought some koni yellows and don't know if i should bother putting the springs back in or buy coil overs. I want to know if the struts would help at all or will it still ride bad(i'm not trying to ride like stock just better). Or should i sell the springs and buy GC?

Another thing someone told me they might be coilovers without the sleeve and other people tell me they're springs...by looking at them i don't see a difference. I looked on the internet for skunk2s that give a 3 3/4 drop and i couldn't find any, so they may be coilovers w/o the sleeve.

Im on skunk2's and tokitio blues. Mine rides good its just stiff. You can feel about anything when your driving but it handles great.
If you can afford it i would get either tein basics or get Skunk 2 coilovers.

he's already bought koni yellows(good choice). I'd say either try em out and then sell for gc's or just go to gc's for a for sure good choice.

Definitely give em a try unless you don't want to keep taking it apart. Get some nice ground controls and trust, you'll be happy.

Don't touch the Tein Basics, they are complete garbage

Ok, i have a 2000 civic si i am looking at GC on Ebay. Just wondering there are some that says(92-95 96-98 99-00) for 270 and then there are ones that say 92-00 (Koni)for 336. They're both from the same seller...would the ones for 270 only be for stock struts or would they work on the koni struts also?

Sounds good

This leads me to my next question...What would be the best spring rate for me, i'm not racing mostly for daily driving to work and whatnot and the roads down here are pretty bad.

Another question i bought my struts from thmotorsports...they're sitting in my room still in the box. Will i need to buy any thing else if i want to put these GC's on?

While many of us could make recommendations on rates, it might be best to simply call GC directly, explain you road conditions, expectations of the suspension, desired ride height, and use case (daily driver), and see what they recommend.

Desired ride height plays a huge role here. The lower you want the car, the stiffer you'll need to go, and the worse the ride quality will be.

Or just be lazy and order up a set of 450/300 rates, which will accommodate most reasonable ride heights without being so stiff as to be absurd for a daily driver. 550/350 if you want to "slam" or "dump" the car.

And the stiffer you go in spring rates, the better shock you'll need to control them (to avoid a bouncy ride).
