suspension question.....
I'm sorta new to having to work with suspension stuff..... so bear with me.
I have what i can best discern as tokico illuminata coilovers with adjustable springs (coilovers are threaded with two nuts on bottom of spring to adjust ride height) and i tried to raise the civ two days ago. I adjusted the nuts down about an inch and a half so that i could raise the car to a) get it up onto a lift, and b) fit stock rims and tires on it for the winter. It was fine for a couple of hours and then it seemed to settle right back down to original ride height. my question is this- can i just replace the springs on the coilovers or do i have to replace the whole unit?
what are some decent springs? Through searching I've found that a lot of people recommend h&r.... please give a no0b some help!

ok, so those springs'll go right into the tokico coilovers?
also, with the coilovers and those do you think i should still expect to be able to fit stock rims and tires on it? I'm runnin 15's with 205/50r15 kuhmo ecsta right now.
and i'm sittin pretty well as low as i can go with no tire rub. (example- can you fit your index finger abover your tire at the top of the wheelwell? i cant....)

Re: suspension question..... (BarelyGlowin)
it's been awhile anyone with any new idieas?
also, i read the stuff for the tokico illuminatas I have which say that you shouldn't use them with any other springs than the ones they come with. anyone with any thoughts?

he's talking about coilovers, not coilover sleeves like you have pictured. I believe eibach makes the springs for those tokico coilovers, however, you might need to give them a call to have them rebuild it as i'm not too sure if it can be done by the consumer. But hey, anythings possible, post pics of your coilover setup

Re: (soundbomber)
i have no digi cam as of yet but here is an image..... they are adjustable dampening shocks with an adjustable spring seat as well for easily adjustable ride height.
so what i'm saying is that i adjusted the spring seats to raise the ride height and due to spring settling it's right back down where it was. what i'm asking is if i can, or anyone already has changed out the springs on these or something like them.
edit here's a pic showing good detail of the spring seat adjustment....

they are illumina r coilovers.
ok, i can tell they sorta suck but is there any way to switch out the springs? Or can you recommend any decently priced other coilovers?

when you adjusted the height, did you spin those 2 wheels on the sleeve againt each other.
the bottom one you tighten and the top you loosen till its secure.

in order to raise the car up you must spin the 2 things at the bottom up , tighten them together and then put tire on and see what it does
if its high enough do all the coilovers like that one, if it isnt, then readjust it higher, the pieces spin higher which makes the springs go higher which raises your ride height
