b16 redline at 7200?? wtf?
i been driving my b16 swapped hatch for awhile and finally got to a place whare i felt high rpm's were doable without getting pulled over and it cutout at 72k?? its a obd0 pr3 ecu in a 89si... the only code i have is a knock sensor because i dont have it hooked up yet. could this cause the low redline? vtec is working at 55k like its soposed to

You may have the automatic B16 ECU. If I remember correctly, you can tell by opening the case of the ECU up and looking on some chip on the inside that says AT or MT on top of it. I think that may be your issue unless you have a CEL or something.

Of course you could check the numbers on the outside (easier) but can you not open the case of the ECU and look inside or am I just blowing smoke? I read that quite some time ago somewhere...
yeah... a b16 goes to 8200 bone stock.. at least mine did, and everyone else's.. haha
and you shouldnt be getting on it without your knock sensor hooked up.. When i got my eagle talon, the a$$hat before me had disconnected the knock sensor, so he could turn up him boost hella high.. EVERY piston was broken all around the rings, and the top of the pistons were all kinds of ****ed up.. hahaha..
the Knock sensor retards your timing when it senses knock.. its basically just a microphone that hears knock at the right frequency, anad helps to remedy that..
hook up the knock sensor, and you shouldnt have any issues..
