Default TD05 14b for my LS???

So im planning on putting a 14b in my LS. My question is do you think I can make over 200whp and if so with how much boost?

Where do you live? If you live near sea level, I bet you could get 200whp on the stock WG (8psi). I am putting down around 190whp up here in Colorado (5800ft) on a stock LS with a 14b running the stock WG, so I would estimate that you'd be over 200whp at sea level given that overall you'd be running ~2 more psi than me.

My experiences with the 14b is it will make really close to 200whp on a stock motor. This isnt always a guarantee since it depends on a couple of things, such as your manifold of choice, size of charge pipes, exhaust size etc. and of course, your tuner.

Thanks guys! I live in the twin cities (about 800ft.). I understand that there is alot of variables but i just wanted a ballpark idea of what to expect from this turbo setup. I got a 14b, ssautochrome manifold ( w/ added support brackets by me), 450cc DSM injectors, 1g BOV, chipped ECU, crome basemap, ebay intercooler w/ homemade piping, 2.5" turbo back exhaust w/ cat delete, stealthmode oil lines, ect... your basic poor man Honda/DSM turbo setup lol. I appreciate all the feedback and im happy to hear that i will beable to achieve my goal of around 200whp running my stock WG. Hows did you guys like the 14b on the ls motor? Does it start to pull at a good RPM? Does it pull nice? or does it give out too early like i hear so many people say? My friend is running a T3/T4 on his d16 and it doesnt start to pull until around 5k. Kind of pointless IMO.

Im assuming you mean the twin cities, MN?? If so, hit up Ron at RS motors to tune, he uses a mustang dyno which will read a bit lower than most, but he is a great tuner with awesome customer service. The 14b should spool pretty damn fast, but with an LS you hopefully won't run out of steam up top. Its smaller than I would put on an LS, but should be some fun low end torque for city driving.

I get full boost (8psi) at 3k and it doesn't taper off at all up to the limiter at 7.2k.

Thanks guys for all the input! It sounds like this turbo setup is exactly what im looking for. I cant wait to get it running! I plan on keeping the A/C and pwr steering. Do you guys think this is possible without relocating anything? And does anyone know the hp potential of the 14b? Again thanks alot, I really appreciate the help!

Boost may not taper off up top but what about power? Have you ever had it on a dyno? thats the only real way to tell.

You had Greddy 15G. VERY different from a Td04-14b. They are completely different w/ similar housing. you don't need ARP bolts for something this underpowered.

This is a 14b

This is a 15G - Not quite a Greddy 15G, but close

"You had Greddy 15G. VERY different from a Td04-14b"

td04 is a 13g

14b is a td05, 13-automatic 1st gen, 14-standard trans

little bigger. you probably knew, prolly just a typo, anyways i know im a bit late to the thread but i run a b16, slightly thicker cometic 3 layer steel head gasket and arp head studs. my w/g opens at ten psi stock though? anyways i am usin an ebay manifold and intercooler/piping set and i managed 256 whp in oklahoma, about sea level.

im stepping up to the 14b. its already in the mail. along with a gm 3 bar map and a wastegate dumped o2 housing. hoping to hit 280-300whp with a couple more psi and a better tune

TD04 is a standard housing size, not just a wheel size, we've put 15g 3000GT upgrades in TD04s. TD05 can take anything from a 14b-20G.

to get 300whp on a 14b, you got to push MAJOR pressure through to it. If you want to try it while pushing in a lot of hot air.. Go for it.. I'd like to see your results.

really? even though i'm a step down turbo wise right now with less boost and hitting 256whp? hm. well i guess the efficiency range for the 14b isn't THAT much higher than the 13g

if i don't hit my mark, i'll just drive it for a year then build the engine and swap to a t3/t4. ball bearings ftw lol

Here is a 13g

The 13G is 360cfm while the 14b is 378cfm. not much of a difference. this is at over 14psi for these measurements.
