Icon2 Just lowered my CG accord coupe

Hello I just joined this forum and, I have a question. I just lowered my 01' CG Accord using dropzone spring. When I finished I took it for a test drive and heard this annoing rattle sound. The sound appears to be coming from my strut towers. I went back home pulled the rear struts back off in hopes to find whatever was making the noise and, nothing! Everything is good...Any Ideas????

A rattle sound is usually something loose.

Now, if its more of a clunking sound, and those springs happen to be progressive, you're probably just hearing the dead coils collapsing.

A "dead coil" is a loop of the spring designed to be fully compressed under normal conditions. Many progressive springs make use of them. To kill the sound, you need to wrap the spring in rubber.

Example of a rubber wrap specifically made for this purpose (but you can simply use a cut rubber vac line if desired):

make sure you tighten the nut that threads onto the strut shaft good and tight. that will make a hell of a rattle if not tight enough.

tunerNooB your the man. I got some vacume line and cut it into a coil and wraped around the coil.... Like magic the sound is gone. So if anybody uses progressive rate springs to drop your ride (best ride I have ever had in a lowered car.) make sure you get the insolators.
