Urgent help, car running like shite and might be VAFC related?
OK well I installed the vafc yesterday and it has kinda like a lumpy idle and when i rev on it it kinda sounds like its missing, or it cuts out. it sounds like total **** now . Then I go and disconnect the Vafc and puit evberything back to the way it was and the car runs fine, but my A/F gauge reads lean all the time now . it goes up to stoich brifly now , but still mostly lean , it used to go rich very easliy.
I dont knwo what it could be ? We checked the wiring like 15 times. and im gonna goi check it again . but it all seems right . if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

well i checked the code and its giving me 8 flashes . in my book its equaling to crankshaft postion /tdc position sensor disconnected, intermittant interuption , tdc sensor no signal ?
I did take the intake manifold off yesterday , but I did connect everything back into it ?
Anyone have any ideas?

init the vafc..
the nvram in the vafc needs to be flashed to init state again to accept stock ecu parameters.
see if that will help.
most importantly, be sure your using the right vafc diagram for wiring.

i think we reintialized it a few times to see if that helped and it didnt .
what diagrams did yall use? i used the W3 inthink it was.
All the settings are correct as per the instructions.
I took the vafc out and set it up back to stock and no codes were thrown and it runs fine now. it just smells like its running richer for some reason, but my A/F seems to be reading fine now ?

see what i had is the instruction manual and then another manual i guess that was an update? that showed wiring .
Did you use the one that said GSR wiring . on that page it was H6a?
on the other sheet that was included, we went off of W3, which from what I got out of it was for the type R?
They are 2 diff pinouts from what I remember though?
Im lost here guys.
Does anyone have the colors that they tapped into for each wire? Maybe that will tell me if I fucked up the wiring or if my VAFC is shot ?

yea i was just gonna pm that to you. i was thinking maybe the unit is fucked up , or i could look at your wiring, to make sure mine is right.
Also make sure vtm wire was looped correctly. I had this problem when I had a vafc and I would get random codes when in VTEC
