so this has been bugging me for a little while, the rpm gauge would jump once in a while ( during higher rpms ), and i dont have a clue what it is... the car has a b16a ECU in it, if it makes any difference. any input would be good. thanks !

 

First of all, what car kind of do you have? If it's a stock teg then the b16ecu doesn't belong in there.

I would consider checking the ignitor. A lot of jumping tach problems have to do with the ignitor but your doesn't seem major though.

 

check the ignitor and the thermostat housing ground.

 

If it's not the ignitor, which most of the time it is, consider checking these also: tps, map sensor, cyp, chassis to trans ground, the valve cover to chassis ground, and the ECU to thermostat housing ground.
