Default RSX Dying need some help

02 RSX s 98,500 miles.

We bought the car brand new. About a week ago it started idling funny and dieing when slowing down. It also had a check engine light. This started right after we had an oil change done at the Acura dealership. Could be a coincidence. We took the car back to the Acura dealership and they replaced an oxygen sensor. This seemed to clear up the funny idling, but 20 minutes after we left the card died again. When the car dies its smooth no jerky or noises.

The dealerships states that the car has passed all there tests and was not throwing out any codes. At this point they have no idea why its dieing.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Idle Air Control Valve? It could be dirty with 98k on the clock.

Yea, I would clean out the inside of T/B real well....I would also check the cold air injection valve for cracks...its cheapo plastic and when it brakes you get a bumch of strange idle issues....

Fuel pump or fuel filter might be clogged.

That's what I was thinking too. Maybe try running an injector cleaner through it. Or even a 2-step cleaner would be better.

lol at fuel filter...its in the tank and it pretty much just a spunge wrapped around the fuel intake....Honda did not bother with much of a fuel filter because of the plastic gas tank...they think most "crud" that gets into the fuel system is from metal gas tanks rusting.

Really? I thought they had an inline fuel filter that wasn't in the engine bay, but outside the gas tank. But yeah I've heard it's not worth replacing the fuel filter on EP3/DC5 chasis.

Just trying to throw some ideas out there.

Maybe they used the wrong gas for a long time this would mess up your o2 sensor and filter, did the car come with maintaince records? By the way Acura dealership suck they ****ed my car up one time to I'd rather buy parts from them and do it myself at home .

I bought the car brand new and have always used premium, my pops drives the car now and has been for the last few years, he gets all his schedule maintenance done at the Acura dealership.

We did the fuel injector cleaner a few days ago, before the oxygen sensor was replaced. We tested the TPS it passed.

If its an RSX and not a Type-S then it would be pointless for you to run premium fuel as it's not required for the K20A3...

He did say it was a Type-S, but you are right though. I still run premium on my EP3 though. I've found that I get better gas mileage and I can even tell the difference in power. My butt dyno approves of premium

It's been dyno-proven that the factory EP3 ECU will adjust for premium fuel and make more power.

Plus I just like using V-powa to keep everything clean.
