f22 vetec head on f22b2
I drive a 96 honda accord with a f22b2 head, and i'm planing on building the motor, and i was thinking about buying a f22 vtec head. So if i buy this head, all i would need to do is switch the heads, and it should work, or is the ecu going to be a problem?
gonna need a vtec ecu, or just get yours chipped if its a chippable one. then, you'll need an oil feed line to the vtec solenoid, and some wires to run to the ecu. some dowel rods. not sure what its called on an f series, but for an lsvtec, you need a gsr water pump, timing belt and head gasket. i'm sure there's a write up in the faq at the top of the accord forum page.
not sure. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_F_engine there's the specs on f series engines.

If you had some radical cams that had the same valve lift on the lobes as the VTEC lobes on the cams you would buy for a fully built engine, then no, because you would have the same lift.....but we like to call those toda vtec killers.
in some instances vtec does add a small amount yes, but it really depends on the setup.
