piston ring gap.?
something that struck me when i was going over all my parts from my engine tear down, getting everything ready and set(organizing) for the assembly. currently waiting on gaskets, seals, and bearings nick'nAck to come in..
but my question is.! when setting the piston ring gaps to their location, when compressed and tapped down in the cylinder bore.. how would i know if my piston ring gap will stay at their orginal location where i had set them before being compressed and tapped into the cylinder bore.? any way for knowing exact.? besides when the tail'pipes blows smOke.! lols..

oil does play a role in keeping things together a bit more easily and also at the same time lubricating. but is there a way to know.? the piston ring will be obvious and able to be seen from the top side when install but the other three(second ring, oil rings, and the spacer) is not going to be visible.

as long as you arent moving the pistons around, what do you have to worry about?
clock the ring and push the piston down the bore. Slight movements in the rings wont bring them outside their clocking window if you set them in the middle.
