Default Valve Cover Question

I was wondering if you can use regular spray paint on a valve cover. I am wondering because i do not like the color selection on High Temps. So please let me know if i can paint my valver color any regular spry paint color without using hi temps. Thanks

Do you always have to use primer?? I'm pretty sure I've read some where that someone didn't use it and or said you don't have to

i never used clear, but the paint was easily scratched.. i'd use clear just to keep the paint protected..

you don't have to but in my experience primer does WONDERS for the paint.. (sticks better, smoother texture)
