timing a z6/b7 mini me with a y8 cam. haha
so like the title says thats what im trying to do. i would think the y8 cam would compensate for the 1/2 tooth off bc of the deck height issue. but i can only seem to get it started but running horribly, i've swapped around wires thinking the dizzy was 180 out and i've moved it a tooth or 2 either way. im just kinda stumped am i missing something?
well found my problem pulled my valve cover off and i bent 1 valve.... seems odd i only bent 1 especially for how bad its bent but yea. good thing a few weeks ago i picked up a complete y7 head for $5 ahha yes 5. the guy just gave it to me pretty much bc i bought the block. now i get to have a good rest of the weekend replacing the valve and possibly the piston and putting it all back together.
if u are using a Y8 cam then u have to use a Z6 camgear on the Y8 cam so the timing marks will line up..the camgear has to match the bottom end when doing that swap..if its a Y8 bottom end with a Z6 cam then u would use the Y8 camgear..
