What magazine was it, and did you even read the article as I'm sure the article would have answered the majority of your questions and led you in the right direction for more info. Was it perhaps the F2K kit from InlinePro which mates an S2000 engine to a K-series transmission with mounts for EG/DC?

I believe Mark Brauning put a k head on an H/F block but with a deck plate I believe. . .

I dont think it was the f2k kit since my car is one of the only ones with the kit and i wasnt in any articles haha

They put a k series head on an f20c block? You sure about that?

Doesnt make any sense haha. . . The f20c head flows just as well, if not better than a k head . . .

Exactly, that is where my skepticism arises. I see no practical application to warrant doing this head swap. I may just go pick up the latest issue of Import Tuner and see what information this article offers.

I think I remember seeing someone post about an I-VTEC head swapped F20C somewhere! Import tuner or one of those magazine sites???? Can't remember where I saw it.

They didn't swap heads they retro-fitted i-vtec to the f20 using k-series components and some custom fabrication. Main benefit was quicker spool and thus more power in the mid-range. Probably not worthwhile in an all motor application given the cost and complexity.

How can you tell that you read the article, since they are not using the k head. the whole engine is F series the only thing is that they are using a custom kit to install the I VTEC System a few K series parts but not the head..

Read it again, and you'll understand, everything is there

I'd like to know more about this, do you have any information of links about this? http://www.allgonoshow.com/news/04/s...series-motors/ explains the complexity of doing so. What purposes are they doing this seemingly unusual conversion?

purpose? they are japanese bro, the purpose is entertainment and a spot on Hot Version DVD. if there is one thing ive learned living here the last couple years, its that there is no rhyme or reason to japanese motorsports on the tuner car level. just like spoons 12,000RPM b16b. thing makes no power past 9k. stock cams. but, it revs to 12k. tsuchiya and ichi think its cool so....

you have to remember, a honda here is a domestic. the stuff is laying everywhere for next to nothing. i guess the short answer is "because they can"

Their's a nice long thread on one of the S2K forums about this. They retrofitted the i-VTEC onto the F20. THEY DID NOT DO A HEAD SWAP. The end result was a much quicker spooling turbo and power was actually made everywhere. On the DVD with the latest Dsport mag, it ran a quicker lap than last year on the very first lap and on the second lap they ran an even better time; I think it was like a second faster but I don't remember the track. Unfortunently, if I remember right, it blew a head gasket and couldn't continue. It came in, I believe, second or third place over all; an NSX came in first

I hope they start selling a kit for this. I'll own an S2k someday.

youre lucky . they sell for half what they do in japan in the states. the US got all the S2Ks. youre lucky to touch a clean 99 S2K for less than 12k.
