Default HID problems, want to check relay

Okay so I have been having problems with my Xentec HID kit, with it flickering and turning off, but almost always coming back on, and so on.

sent the whole kit back already twice and always had the same problem with 5 different ballast and 4 different bulbs. I'm tired of paying $15 bucks to ship those heavy ballast back to xentec every 4 weeks.
and Yes I have a relay harness which I believe can be the problem? I bought it from ebay.

Heres my question I bought a Multimeter so I can check my battery, alternator, and can I use it to check the relay harness? like check the voltage on the power output to the ballast? If so what setting would I set it on? DC voltage? btw my battery measures 12.35 when the car is off and 14.3 when car is on, so it seems good.

I don't understand how my 3 friends who also have xentec have no problem with their HIDs for about 6 months now, and my HIDs go out like everyday.

run wires, from your headlights too where they go into, could be some wire burned out, or you might just have to go with thicker wiring, ddmtunning sells kits specifically for that

I was reading in another thread about this same problem. I believe they were made by the same company. I read that it's a manufacturer defect and guys have had problem after problem with these ballasts. The other thread said they were flickering on and off.

Yeah, I heard that problem too, that Xentec had defective ballast, but I tested about 5 ballast and I dont think that 3 of them are defective... I don't know though This time Im going to try to do a clean solid installation if it doesnt work out then F Xentec...

I have a question about how where you guys usually ground the Relay? do you guys connect the ground wire for each power terminal for the ballast on the same spot where stock headlights terminal are grounded? or does it matter that multiple things are grounded in the same spot?

Bro, out of my 3 box of xentec hid kit, I had 4 out of 6 ballast bad!!! I emailed my seller and told them of the problems that this batch of ballast is having. I dealt with xentec for the past year and a half, never had problems, until recently, I had to ship 7 ballast back within the past month and just found out that I have to ship another 5 back once my 7 replacement ballast back....

The ballast needs to charge the lights and it has to work harder to turn on the lights when its colder out because the bulbs have to warm up.

try the headlight switch. We had problems with ours and couldn't figure it out for the longest time, then swapped out the switch from our 91 civic, and the headlights worked again!
