you'll need to either add the sensors to make it obdII or convert to an obd1 ecu. it doesn't have the crank sensor since it's obd1, so you'll need the whole oil pump from an obdII b16a. so, drop in? no. obviously you need a head too, and lots of other parts. do some searching on swaps. and take a pic of the engine code stamp on the front of the block.
yea i knw bout the shift links, head, axels, harness, ect but i what to knw if its a OBD-1 if so i could use a p28 and convert the car to OBD-1

was thinking about this some more. you can trick the ecu into thinking you have the CKF sensor, which is fine and better than converting the ecu. however, to "drop in" that motor, you need a lot more stuff. also, i doubt the stock ecu in your 96 civic will control the b16a very well. so again, "drop in" no, but like was said above, you can put any motor in any car, it's all a matter of time and money and knowledge.
I was looking at the block some more, and i notice that are stamps all over the crankshaft saying "PR3" but the pistons say "P30", so i really need to know what generation is this block from. And once again Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
repeat what was already stated dosent make you look smart
Your answer......
The engine block is for sure a JDM model, being it's stamped B16A only. The generation doesn't really matter too much, but i can tell you it is a 2nd gen B16 if it has the P30 pistons in it. They gave a compression .2 higher than the pr3 pistons found in usdm engines.
Because of the higher compression at 10.4:1, the 2nd gen B16A was rated at 170hp.
