Default Buying a lip was a bad idea

I lowered my car and just got a brand new paint job, and I installed a type-r lip the other day and now my front end is about an inch and a half off the ground and I scrape ALL the time, it's frustrating, but now I am screwed because from the scarping it scratched my newly painted bumper! Like the part on the top of the lip when I scraped the lip moved and scratched the bumper, so if I take the lip off there will be scratches. It is a ABS plastic lip, does the polyurthane or whatever ones scratch your bumper?

Is OEM plastic or polyurthane? I just want it not to scratch my bumper, because it wont be cheap to get repainted.

Then it will be ugly! I love the way it sits now, my tires are tucked, and it looks sexy.

The OEM lip is plastic, but IMO looks best unpainted. Even though it's plastic, it's pretty durable. I've scraped it hard quite a few times, with nothing worse happening other than the obvious scratches on it. I used to have a "mugen" lip. The OEM lip scrapes way less.

Lol, I don't know your history with cars, but if you've never owned a lowered car it definitely takes a different driving style. Speed bumps are your enemy! And definitely pick up an OEM lip, my em1 lip is still holding strong although a couple of tabs are broke, I've got them rigged with hot glue and its holding very well. Its been through some **** too, you should definitely check into one

Here is the front, I brightened the front with photoshop so you could see how close the lip is to the ground.

That's what happens when you don't use double sided tape across the entire bumper where the lip sits on it. If you had, the tape would have taken the abuse, and your bumper wouldn't be scratched. Some people even go so far as to use stick on weather stripping between the edge of the lip and the bumper (rubber makes a good protector).

Oh well. Hopefully, lesson learned. Get the bumper repaired, attach the lip correctly, and get used to scraping it, since you want to try and drive a dumped car.

yea i was going to say the same thing about the weather stripping...

doesnt matter what the lip is made of, if you use weather stripping scratching is not a porblem

my only question is why when you got your car painted you didn't have your front bumper holes shaved where your liscense plate used to be? one of the silliest things i think i see on hondas is relocated plates when you got 2 big holes in your bumper.

The reason I got the relocator is because I did a front end conversion and the holes are too big, and I cant screw my plate on, I got a parking ticket for having no front plate, so the relocator was my only option, I perfer no front plate.

it should have 2 gold plates that are threaded and behind those holes, then you will be able to mount your plate.
