exhaust manifold bolts getting loose help
i just got my car tuned again for more hp and my exhaust manifold bolts are getting loose. happened once when it was on the dyno then again after my drive home (3 hour drive) later on that day.
does this happen much with cars with FI?
i never had a problem with the bolts getting loose when i was 100hp less (my old tune). i ran it that way for about 3 months with no bolts becoming loose.
can anyone recommend any other bolts to replace them with or will the bolts not loosen after i drive the car for awhile on the new increased power?

If you mean the manifold to head bolts, ARP sells a set. Althought its not cheap. If lock washers don't work you might want to buy the oem studs with lock nuts.
If you mean the turbo to manifold bolts, only thing that works is either stage8 bolts or ARP drilled bolts (run safety wire). locktite, lock washers, high temp RTV, and teflon tape wont work...tried all of em myself.

this is what you need mine would back out every other day i bought the arp and never looked back they did run me $100 tho but thats cheap compared to wasting time at the dyno.

you can also run some lockign bolts form STAGE 8

www.summitracing.com is best price i found when looking last time. Um here is the deal with these things when it tells you length its overall length including the tip of the stud that isnt threded. so measure yours stock studs and add like 1/4inch at least. I forget what size im running, ive had them for 4 years. I think i have the2" ones but possibly the 2.25" ones. i wanna say stock is 1.75" and they come up pretty short that way cant really get a bit on the threds to good form personal experience anyhow, some others had luck with shorter ones but if you have room then get longer
