Default Radiator question

I own an eg and my plastic radiator recently broke so i replaced it with an aluminum one. its been about 2 weeks and the coolant in the reservoir is already gone. just wondering if this sounds right.

You shouldn't lose coolant that quickly. Check for leaks. Did you bleed the cooling system? Did you replace the radiator cap?

what do you mean it broke?

mine failed due to the headgasket failing between cylinder 2 and 3 and allowing too much pressure in the cooling system, thus blowing the plastic tanks off the rad.

i think you might have a blown headgasket.

well there was a crack in the plastic. i dont see any leaks and i did bleed it out and the new radiator came with a new cap. sorry to b noob but how would i know if my head gasket was failing.trying to learn as much as i can thats why im on this site

compression test is an easy way. if you have near 0 - 30 psi reading on any cylinder the gasket has failed at that area at the very least

You can get a test kit at napa etc. to check for exhaust gasses in coolant. It's like $50 but you can reuse it on any car. You stick it in the radiator neck and if the blue fluid changes to yellow you have blown headgasket or a crack in block/head.
