fuel pump problem, its my daily
So, i have a '95 eg with a swap. The ecu wiring is hacked pretty bad. One day my fuel pump just shut off. Now i check the main relay and replaced it, the car turns on perfectly but the pump wont prime at all. I heard from a friend that there was a wire that ran from the ecu to the main relay that tells the pump to turn off and on. Which wire is this? i need to figure it out because right now i have a solid 12 volt wire running my fuel pump, which is not good. Help me out honda-tech. thanks
yea i looked it up and it just kinda showed a wire going into the main relay and breaking off in the relay, i could not really figure out which one it was.
still no idea? ima just go in the wiring and try to soder the wires together that are just twisted together. Hopefully my problem lies somewhere in there.
Well as this page says, the main relay is 2 relays in one...so maybe one of the relays in it is working and the other one isn't....
Try testing it...hope this helps:

Ok, i i checked fuse 18 in the underdash fuse panel. Where is 24 and 31 at? If it in the engine bay fuse box, i checked all of them and they were all good. except my reverse light fuse....which i replaced.
pump is good. Since the car is my daily, i run it off of a solid 12volt source till i can fix it. Pump works perfect, i just want to figure this out because my mpg sux now and my car is running mega rich.
i also tested the wire that runs from the main relay to the pump and its not getting power. I dont understand because the main relay is brand new. Does the main relay need to be bolted up? like grounded?

Check the main engine ground on the back of your motor need the thermostat housing. Make sure there is a clean contact patch on both the housing and the eyelid. I had a problem like your once and that is where I found my gremlin.
Return the main relay and fuel pump wires to stock and then do the tests in the diagram to help pinpoint the problem.
The main relay is grounded by the ECU. Check the main relay wires that run to the ECU and also try swapping in a known good ECU.
Checking this important ground is a good idea; however, if this ground were bad, the engine would lack both fuel and spark.
yea ground is fine, just cleaned it and rebolted it. Which wires groud out at the ecu? I have a vafc wired into my stock harness but like i said the previous owner butchered it so im just trying to figure out what the issue is.
The wires are back to stock. All i do is tap a 12 volt into the fuel pump wire that comes out of the main relay. If i take that off the wiring is back to normal.
