Default F2D 4wd is it possible?

ive been told its not possible and it was possible.
apparently you have to grind down part of the F block to fit the drive shafts in a normal F2D swap why cant you do it at all if you had the 4wd system?

with the F2D you're right, it's neccessary to cut part of the block away just to fit regular axles in the FWD configuration.

i'm not real familliar with the 4wd tranxaxles but as i understand the case extends past the bell housing along side the block. i can only assume this takes up more room than the inner CV joint. that said it's likely there just isn't enough block material left to clearance for it.

unfortunately i don't have a 4wd case handy, otherwise i would fit it up to the adapter plate and block and see how impossible it is... it seems the 4wd cases are as rare as guys doing F2D.

You'd use a half shaft with the 4wd tranny and if the half shaft is about even with where the oil pan meets the F block you might be alright.
