It'll go into gear if the engine is off even if the clutch is engaged. What's the problem exactly?

It is normal for it to go into gear while the car is off. Is it doing the same while the car is on? If not, it is completely normal. If it DOES it while the car is on, mor einfo to torubleshoot.

does it try to stall out? are you able to drive the car?

The fact that you tried to put the car in gear without pressing the clutch tells me everything I need to know....

OP, we are confused by what you have posted. Does this car move? Are you jamming it into gear with the car running?

You need to spend about 2 more minutes communicating what is wrong. From this it is impossible to tell what is happening. To me it sounds like:

The car is on the ground with the engine running.
With the clutch engaged, you go from neutral into first and the car stalls and dies.

That's normal and not really that good for your car. Have you actually driven your car yet? If you drive properly (i.e. shift with the clutch disengaged and then engage the clutch gradually) does it function? If so, I can't see the problem.

i bought the car as a shell i had the motor in another integra i drove it yes the motor works perfect and so does the tranny but the thing is that when i swapped the motor in the shell (integra) i turned it on everything was perfect everything is conected perfect...
and the problem im having is that i could shift to any gear without pressing the clutch when the car is turned on it has a brand new clutch so i dont think thats the problem anything else that could be causing this

Well, this is not making much sense. Either the car will jam into the gear, let's say first, it will either jerk the car forward and stall or it will continue to run without moving the car. If it continues to run, then you have a problems with either the transmission, clutch or axles.
Honestly, I have no idea why you would even try to put the car into gear without the clutch, you're destroying the synchros in the transmission.

I'd really like to know what happens if the OP tries to use the car normally, rather than doing something f*ed up and weird like shifting gears without the clutch.
