6th gear blocked.
Just wondering if anybody else had ever run into this problem. Messing around in the S2000 (2002) went to go from 3rd to 4th gear shifting at 9,000 rpm. I didn't shift hard, I eased it back and touched second gear, didn't go into gear, never let the clutch out but it scratched. Now every other gear still goes in like butter but it's being blocked from 6th gear. The car was still under warranty at the time so I took it in and they claimed to have fixed it and gave it back. What they did was they drove it around reaming it into 6th gear until it would go in and go in smoothly. I've since sold the car, but I'm just wondering if anybody else had ever come across this problem. I just found it odd that a 3rd to 2nd gear scratch would effect 6th gear in that way, the only thing that makes since to me is if the fork got bent, yet I didn't push it in hard.
How do you know what they did? Highly doubt they told you they went reaming it into 6th, plus they could do it parked, they wouldnt have to drive it around. 3rd to 2nd wouldnt really do much, so maybe it was your imagination and they drove it and it was fine, so they gave it back.
Easy, I was at the race track and one of the guys there was from the Honda dealership. I told him he couldn't have done any worse to the car than what I have, asked them what they really did. He told me seeing as it was in so often (it was in 3 times total for the tranny work because this actually happened twice), his shop manager told him to go out and beat the **** out of the car, so he did, lots. He told me how they fixed it the first time and I believe every single thing he said because I have to deal with these shops on a daily basis and the ones around here, the people really are scum. If you have anything close to performance they will take advantage of it. Sometimes if they're just pissed off in your moms ford focus, I have seen them finish the tires before they put new ones on by doing a good 2 minute + burnout.
Why do you think I never take my cars to shops except for warranty work...
