Euro Accord-H22A or H22A JDM Prelude Type-S
I am new to engine swap and I'd like to know the diffrents between Euro Accord-H22A and H22A JDM Prelude Type-S. Why H22A JDM Prelude engine has 20 more hp than Euro Accord-H22A?
I have a Honda Accord 97 5 speed. Should I go with Euro Accord-H22A or JDM Prelude Type-S?
Do I have to do any mods if I go with Euro Accord-H22A? I am planing to add a turbo later.
Which engine is the best? I have limited budget and I want to do everything right from the start.

do either one if you want to spend about 4500+ for a engine. Type s has 20 hp more due to the upgraded pistons, i think Euro accord Spec R has a better intake manifold, dont know the specs but IMO, get a obd2 (due to you having a 97) h22a and get type s pistons. bam!! same ****, saves money!! .
In my head i'm screaming SEARCH!!, but i'm in a good mood. hahahaha

just get a jdm h22a. since youll have to build for turbo anyway, might as well just spend as lil money as possible on the block. the type-s and euro-r are both higher compression, so youd have to rebuild for turbo anyway. the cheapes euro-r i have seen was $3900 for a 2001. whereas you can get a h22a for $2400. if your planning on using your car on the street, if will be best to keep it odb2. if you swap an odb1 engine in you wont pass inspection (depending on your area). use the search function so you can learn more about what youll need to do to the engine in order to get it ready for turbo.
of course, you could always just use your money and buld your f22, then boost the hell out of it... seems as though that choice is growing more popular all the time.
it will be hard to build a turbo car right with a limited budget, it can be done, itll just take TIME.

If you are planning on FI save your $ and get a regular USDM or JDM H22 base model. The higher C.R. of the Type S or Euro R will not make boosting easy. You have a turbo so you know that already so why am I repeating that? Look around for a deal also. I bought a complete USDM OBD II 2000 prelude non-SH 5 spd dropout week before last for complete. It only had 1679 miles. I think that is right; it's been a long day.. Use http://www.car-part.com as a base for your USDM search and go from there. Good luck...

you can put a turbo on anything. not saying it wont go BOOM, but you could put a turbo on it... search, and find out what you HAVE to do before your going to turbo it.
turboing the h22-s will be a waste of your money and a waste of a great n/a motor.
if you want to boost so bad do what we suggested. usdm/jdm base h22 then build the block for boost. HIGH COMPRESSION + BOOST = DETONATION unless you have a grip load of $$$$$$$.

No, I do not want to boost so bad. I just want to know what options I have.
Because I have turbo on my car and I do not want to waste it , if I engine swap.
Now I know. But I hear some body swap engine H22 and turbo it with out doing some mods to the engine.
