Default Level 2 cam?

I recently stopped by the Honda dealership parts department and asked what was the biggest cam I could put in a f22a1 engine and he told me it could handle a stage 2 cam on stock internals. My buddy tells me I'll need more air intake so I have a h23 IM. Do I really need a cam gear, valve springs, tune, and rods or will the stock internals do? I had an old motor laying around and I yanked the cam when I saw Bisimoto only wanted 229.00 for a regrind. Just looking for more umph!

I have the Bisi Stage 2 Cam, its fine on stock internals, but i recommend a valve spring upgrade somewhere around $159.99 This would help the upgraded camshaft perform slightly better as the valves would open and close more precisely.

If you look on Bisi's webite he recommends it with this cam upgrade.

Don't research, it's a waste of time

And please don't ask the Honda dealership those questions - they have a tough enough time answering questions about stock cars, let alone modified.

x2!

Bisimoto level 2 does not required valvetrain upgrade. I ran the Level 2 on my F22B1 and yeah.

What is a possible downside of level 2 to level 1?
According to Bisi, both have a stock-like idle and can be run on stock internals.. just the stage 2 produces 5% more power..

also, is the cam gear necessary/will it help improve performance or does it just help with adjusting the cam..

thanks

This also brings me back to my old problem of what fits my engine..

I have the F20B2 SOHC non-vtec basically the 2.0l version of your US F22B2...

Would the cam for a f22b2 fit my f20b2?

With the level 2 we recommend valve springs and the cam gear. Your stock internals will be fine. You will always benefit from a tune as it will optimize your power output. You can run simply by dropping the camshaft into your motor if you do not have the ability to tune currently.

The Level 1 cam is our basic upgrade camshaft for those who aren't really big into performance but want alitte more "omph" from there motor for daily driving. This camshaft is Emissions friendly and does not require any additional upgrades, but we do recommend the cam gear with all our cam upgrades. This will allow you to properly dial in and tune your new camshaft.

Since we design our camshaft to work in the correct application for there use, we would require your F20B2 cam core to design a camshaft for you. I'll send you a pm with more info

Damn it,

To expand on my earlier statement

It took a "Presidential Award" winning Honda dealership 5 hours to *attempt* to align my S2000. It's still f'd up and going elsewhere.
