standard bearings... oversized bearings are for rod/crank clearances that are too loose.

the oversized pistons only determine what cyl. bore you have to run and what size rings to get.

Why? There's nothing at all wrong with ACL bearings.

What determines the bearing size is the crank journal sizes and the block's journal sizes. If it has only been micropolished, you get standard bearings, then use plastigauge to check the clearances. If they fall w/in spec, you don't need the OEM "color-coded" bearings used to correct clearance issues. A more precise way is to use a micrometer & snap/bore gauge to measure the room for bearings.

FYI If you've cut a stock Honda crank more than .0009", it's already removed the hard coating, and isn't worth using.

^^^^

Listen to him. Also this better not turn into another ACL vs. OEM thread.
Let's keep that can of worms shut.

my bad, didn't mean to turn it into a discussion about oem vs acl; just go to the shop and listen to them I agree. I listened to my local shop.
