Question about D16Z6 tranny and how to get new tranny fluid in.
Just some food for thought I'm having before I get to bed and it's buggin me.
Ok so it seems like the 2 most popular ways on here is through the VSS or the filler bolt (obviously). Now what about through the back-up light switch? It seems like no one does it that way, is there a reason? I just put new fluid in and poured it in through the back-up light switch since it is very easy to access and left the filler bolt open then once fluid ran out I stopped and closed it all up. The VSS IMO is more of a hassle to get out than either of the other 2 so why is the VSS method chosen over say through the back-up light switch?

VSS is very easy, easier to get a little 10mm socket down there, long funnel won't fall over, no need to even tough the fill plug.
Fill plug is a pain to get out- I would stick with the VSS. It's straight down and you don't need to get a special funnel to get fluid in the side.
