I have the same issue, it can be felt in the steering wheel like warped rotors kind of. Only, like the OP said, it is during acceleration, not deceleration.

Anyone have any ideas?

I actually have only owned the car for about 2 weeks. New wheels/tires will be on tomorrow, so that will answer that part for me. I was leaning towards wheel bearings because I believe my car still has the factory axles. I just dont hear any noises that would lead me to believe there is a bearing failure?
Thanks guys.

Transmission or torque converter going bad, try a fluid exchange, you may get lucky

I just assumed automatic here, ignore if you've a 5sp of course

I had this weird shaking in my car before as well and I did the same thing you did.

Changed the axles, changed the brakes and gotten the wheels balanced as well. However it still comes and goes I can feel it when I accelerate the car. It also shakes a little during HWY at around 70mph as well, not alot but you feel it.

It turns out that my clutch was the problem where something was off balanced and when I accelerate it would shake. I changed the flywheel and clutch(ACT) and it was gone.

A flywheel, Disc, PP could go out of balance so that is something you may want to check out.

lol. that's the best news i've heard. that's probably it then cause i know i need a clutch cause mine's chattering right now. i planned on buying it next month since i just finished paying off some bills. I know, well i hope it's not the tranny cause i just had it rebuilt this summer and there's fresh fluid in there. so sounds like it's the clutch. thanks everyone. i'll confirm if it's the clutch once i get it in

sounds kinda like axles. but if you need a clutch might as well start there, if its still there after the clutch.

id be willing to bet an axle is bad

okay. so i changed my clutch and flywheel last night and the shake went away. only problem now is my pedal feels to soft. i got a LSD Motorsports clutch. i bled my clutch, no bubbles and it's still soft. a guy at my work says it could be the slave cylinder but it was fine before the switch. so whatcha guys think?

i did an h2b swap in my hatch and witht the solid mounts i noticed this. i then discovered that becaseu my car was so low, i created axle bind. i had to lift it back up a bit to aleviate it. could be your issue if the car is really low

Glad everything is gonna be fixed man.

Normally it's difficult to explain how a clutch could cause this shaking but I'm glad you are the type that understands.
