Recommended oil for h22 w/ 225,xxx miles
Yes my beloved h22 has hit the 225,000 mile mark.....I bought it with 207,xxx and now its at 225,xxx. I have used mobil 1 10w-30 (synthetic) since I've had it but i was wondering if I should switch to a different viscosity or is 10w-30 fine?...The motor seems to run perfectly and pulls hard. Ive never had a motor with this many miles on it and i just want to make sure that i dont "mess it up" by using the wrong viscosity. I will be swapping in a fresh H22 next summer but i want to sell this one and keep it in good running condition....Thanks in advance fellas

Oh and just keep running whatever oil you're running now, if it's not leaking or burning oil then its fine. If it starts smoking or something else and you're not ready to rebuild it, THEN it's time to look at oil choices.
I have only used Mobil 1 syn 10W-30 since I bought the car.

Stick with that you have. The grey smoke in VTEC is just unburnt fuel. A stock Honda ECU goes quite rich when switches to the VTEC fuel map
k i will stick with the 10w30...it does burn a slight amount of oil but only when i "pop" vtec hehe....when i drive normal the oil level doesnt drop very much at all....It does have a small leak coming from the timing cover side but its not much at all...ill fix it if it gets worse or when i finally pull the motor out....I added some lucas oil stabilizer and it has helped with the leak and oil burning...
The high-mileage oils work well to an extent in such engines. Helped in my poor condition 5g H22. I imagine going to a 40wt oil would help as well.
