Question? does advancing or retarding a camgear affect ignition timing...

Default Question? does advancing or retarding a camgear affect ignition timing...

As the question says. I just wanted to know if I adjust my toda cam gears, will it also change my timing...

Timing is reated to spark and piston (crank) position. Cam gears just adjust the opening and closing of exhaust and intake valves earlier or delayed depending upon adjustment.

distributor is driven off of the intake camshaft... so, if you adjust your intake valve timing, it will affect your ignition timing.
