can anyone identify this part?
its the bar that goes across next to the motor.
above the header with the blue bracket.
and what is the purpose of that?
where do you find one?

I've never seen that before. .And idk but to me it looks like some sort of torque mount?

Thats a vortech supercharger. Thats the pulley shaft to the supercharger.

Not the centrifugal kind. It's on the passenger side so it can intercept the stock air intake placement. You can see the aftermarket intake in the upper left corner. The supercharger is connected to the accessory belts by the power steering pump, which is under that blue bracket. The reason the bar runs across is to connect the supercharger on the pass. side of the engine to the belts on the driver side.

A centrifugal supercharger impeller looks like a turbocharger, but instead of being spooled by exhaust pressure, it's spooled by a belt. It also has boost characteristics of a turbo, with psi that increases exponentially with engine speed.

ooo sounds interesting. so i guess you can still use the stock intake manifold for this setup.
