Icon2 142whp d16z6 e85 how to adjust ignition timing for a 75 shot of nitrous

I was wondering how to adjust the ignition timing for my d16z6 on 75 shot of nitrous on e85 all I know is that a good rule is decrease your timing by 2 degrees for every 50 shot that means decrease the timing 3 degrees for a 75 shot and don't you turn the dizzy towards the car to advance the timing and towards the back to dis advance the timing also I was wondering how to properly know if you adjusted the ignition timing 1 degree or 2 degree's etc,etc so can somebody please help me out thanks thanks

you use a timing gun/light.

if you have a tuning system like hondata or a simple VAFC you could also do it but i doubt you do.

was the car just tuned on motor? then the shot added after? or did they dyno and monitor the car on the shot as well?

any tune..where n/a...single adder/dual adder. should also be tuned. since you already have crome....shouldn't you have used it's features for nitrous control and incorporated with the tune.

trusting the manufacture of the kit isn't enough IMHO. you are over doubling the hp via the shot. maybe you should return back to the dyno?

retard the timing 4 degrees and run 2 step colder plugs is what i would do. if not gonna return back to the dyno/tuner

retarding 2 degrees and going 1 step colder on the plugs is more than adequate on a shot that size, especially if he isn't using a bottle heater (it would be over kill).

yea that would be overkill and I did get it tuned on the 50-80 shot of nitrous but everytime I hooked up anything bigger than a 100 shot the intake would blow off and burnt my intake so yea just go with some bkr7e's or some bcpr7e's and take the timing back 2 or 3 degrees thanks for all the help please somebody let me know what spark plug I should use and how many degrees I should decrease the timing thanks

If it was backfiring in the intake manifold and blowing your intake off, you were probably running to lean. You can't run nitrous blindly without bad things happening. Get it up on a dyno and hook a wideband / air/fuel up to the car so you can see what it's doing when you engage the nitrous. If you're running to much timing, not enough fuel or too hot a plug for the amount of nitrous you're spraying, bad things will happen.

E85 should help you run the small shots you are more easily however you need a lot more E85 injected than regular gasoline to keep your air/fuel in the correct range so you need to take the car to someone who has experience tuning nitrous on E85.

1 step colder, 2 degrees for every 50shot added.. which was already explainned.

2* per 50 is an old V8 rule of thumb, every car is different. It is always better to take more out and bring it back in, if you can read the plugs.

If you have an MSD you can use a Retard box triggered off kit itself to retard timing also. That way you don't have to adjust timing with a light each time. Again, confused on why not just use the software, but whatever.

cool thanks guys but yeah the car was tuned up to a 80 shot and the intake kept blowing off because the nozle was way to close to the the throttle body so I adjusted went to my tuner and he told me not to spray anything bigger than a 75 shot because they might of changed the mixture level for the e85 yeah it was pretty dumb but you live and you learn or then your retard

I was just going to say something about that since the stoichiometry (mixture) with E85 is different, and the nitrous kit is not going to adjust for that.
