Floating idea around for Rally civic?
Long story short I took my EG into the desert/wash area the other day and I was highly impressed at how fun this thing was hauling *** through the desert.
Right now I'm brainstorming ideas as to how I can go about doing the project. Thinking:
Suspension that would enable me to lift. (Coilovers?)
Rally/Offroad tires
Spool for the transmission (diff locker)
Fabricate brush guard w/ Rally lights
Skid plates for under engine/fuel tank
Anything else I should consider?

i like the idea, might want to reinforce your front and rear ends, or possibly even take em of regardless of how much ya lift it. be sure to post pics

Really out of my budget & fabrication skills.
Considering an LSD for my transmission, or a spool (not sure how a spool would work out...)
Believe it or not in stock form (bone stock), with blown struts, racing down the desert trails, washes, rocky trails was fun as hell. Just trying to improve upon what I have now to form a semi-decent rally car to beat around the desert in.

Apparently welding the diff is a good idea...

... Only I want to do this to my EG

stock hight should be enuff, might want to look for coilovers that will go that high. roll cage is a must, i offroad alot with my truck be it desert or riverbeds. It is very easy to get a car/truck turned over in the uneven and/or loose terrain. a drag racing cage will not be good enuff, but an autocross cage will be closer to what you need. one thing is u need protection both on the floor and the roof from sharp rocks that come out of no where.
IMO for the transmission, an LSD would be much better than a spool, but you might want to look into something stronger than an oem LSD.
One thing i learned from many trips threw the riverbeds and desert, when going over 50mph, suspension makes a world of differance. dont skimp on suspension and fine tuning the shocks and coils. it might take a while to get it dialed in, but its well worth it when doing 80mph threw the desert feels like driving a caddie on the freeway.
*edit* another thing, if you have a cage in the car never drive it offroad without a helmet...
< learned the hard way...

No *****, Manny. FF rally FTW. Evo/WRX owners lack the brain function to remember rally was not invented by them, just perfected.
BTW thepizzaman rally has spoon!!!

I am pretty sure there is a gen of accord you can use the shocks and springs off of and it will raise the car quite a bit and it bolts right up
