Default B16 tranny internals in an LS??

Alright so i've had the misfortune to have my differential go out in my LS tranny. I got a buddy that sold me all of his cable B16 internals since he had a busted case for CHEAP! I've been in a real bind lately and would REALLY like to make this work!

Now will the diff work in my LS tranny and is it possible to swap the 1st-4th grears from the gearsets onto the LS sets with the LS 5th gear?? And I believe the shift fork on the B16 gearsets is possibly broken, are there any way i could use the LS one? Or if anyone knows where i could find one to purchase.

I would GREATLY APPRECIATE any and all help in this matter! Thanks guys!!

Depending on which years the transmission are. I think you would need to use all of the b16 internals. I have tried to use the ls diff. with the b16 internals, and ended up getting a whining noise that made me want to kill something.

I think you could use the b16 differential, but you need to use the ls ring gear.

What year is your LS tranny? As far as I know the 90-91 Ls transmissions you can use anything from a cable b16 tranny.

I've got a 91 LS tranny. I thought alot of it is swappable as well.

On another note, i just noticed that one the B16 shift fork tips is broke off. Anyone know if its possible to use the LS middle fork? If not, anyone know where the hell to get one or all the forks? Cause i've been looking and cant find anything!

Thanks everyone!!

yes the forks are the same, all parts are the same, except the final drive and the gears themselves.
, change all the seals while ur at it too, inspects the syncros and bearings.

Lucky! I need a cable b16 tranny myself.
