Default What the freak should I do with this scratch?

So, long story short: No parking brake + hill + pole = damage = lesson learned lol. If you really want the story just ask.

Anyway, I'm clueless when it comes to auto body repair, I can paint and do have some experience but I haven't done a car yet. I was hoping to get some suggestions on what I should do with this.

Lovely.

There's a smaller one on the right side as well from the previous owner which was tolerable until now cause my bumper just looks like $%&# so if someone can help me figure out a way to fix this myself that'd be appreciated. If I have to I'll take it to a shop (any recommendations for SoCal Inland Empire area are appreciated), or just buy a new frikken bumper and paint it to the rest of the car.

If I took the bumper off and removed all the paint, sanded it down, and re-painted the whole thing would it blend with the rest of the car or is the bumper gonna be a bit off from the rest of the car since it would be newer paint?

if you want to fix this yourself, you should sand it down with sandpaper 800 ore something near that.....

you use a paint wich matches the color of the bumper. you spray color on and after you are done with spraying the color, you sand it down again with paper 1200 after that you can see if its neccesary to put color on it again ore its ready for some clear... spray the clear on it but go a litle over the good paint to....
than you can polish it and i think if you don't want to paint it proffesionaly this is the best way.

hope i have helped you with this

greetings Tim

Thanks. I found out the color code, and damage like this is gonna need to be primed right? I wasn't sure if I'll need body filler as well cause it doesn't feel like a deep scratch.

if the scratch is too deep, you can use filler...

make sure you don't tape it off around the scratch you shoulkd spray wider so that way there is a overlay in old (good) paint and the new one...

Not sure where in Cali you are, but if around the LA area.

Had a similar "large scratch" like that when someone decided to hit and run on my parked car (mine was a bit worse looking). Cheap, convenient, solution. They matched my Milano Red much closer than I expected.
