serial number on b16a1
so if its first gen b16 it will just say b16 what about the serial number how can i check it to see what it comes up as
i don't think it comes w/ vin number...NOR there are any 1st gen b16 that's USDM. but if you really want to tell the different..the hybrid site tells you where to look for.

"Dohc" is bigger than "Vtec", the electrical connectors are a different colour, ( not sure which is which". You can also tell if it came out of a CRX SiR or Integra X-Si/R-SI by identifying the code that is around or below "B16" if it starts with 5 million, I believe you have an SiR engine. 1 million and it's an Integra model. Also, if you have an S1 transmission with it, chances are it's an Integra... that's what the S1 tranny came in over there.
You can also check the year of your engine. Its stamped in a circle right above the header. It will only have the last two digits ie (90) If its below 93 its definately jdm.
In most cases the stamp will be one year earlier than the car it came out of.
If you had a 92 5 million its jdm
93 4 million would be US
