the 88-91 Jdm b16's put out 158.
the obd 1 Jdm b16 Put out 170.
Obd 2 B16a2 puts out around 160.
Im pretty sure urs puts out 158 stock, you Motor code should be B16A1 I believe.
it should have a cable tranny also.

The engine code will be B16A reguardless if it's a first or second gen.
One way to tell is to check the engine serial number. I believe the first gens have a 1 million serial number while the second gen have a 5 million serial number

You cannot tell how much HP the engine has by simply looking at the serial number. Look at the color of the plugs on your engine. If your engine came with grey plugs, it is OBD1 and has 170 HP if it is JDM. If your engine came with white/cream colored plugs its NON-OBD and has 160 HP. Also (if you have the stock one) look at the intake manifold. If the intake manifold has a PGM-FI plaque on it it is non-OBD and has 160 HP. If the intake manifold is blank, you have a 170 HP OBD 1 motor. I just remembered a very good way to tell. If your motor has the stock exhuast manifold on it or you know where it is, you can easily tell the difference. If you stock exhaust manifold has 2 single wire O2 sensors mounted on the cast iron portion of the manifold, the engine is non-OBD and 160 HP. If it has a only one O2 sensor that has 4 wires and it is located on top of the collector of the manifold, right before the cat, its OBD1 and 170 HP. PPL on Honda-Tech need help you a little more than by telling you what you want to hear w/o facts behind it.

The Serial # that starts with a 5 means that it came out of a civic. If it starts with a 1, it came out of an integra.

Yep but serial number will help too. 1 million were built in 89-91 and the 5 million series were built 92-up.
It falls in the same category as your tips for determining year. None of them will give a definite answer, but use all of them to get a good general idea.
I never said that the serial number will give a definite answer, just like all you recommendations, they are subject to scrutiny also
