I run my cai all the time and have never had a problem. Just don't submerge the filter in water or snow. As long as the filter does not have a constant supply of water to suck up you will be fine. The oil on the filter helps to bead off any small amount of water that might get on the filter.

there are systems that will eliminate any water going into to Cold Air Intake. If you get any of the tuner magazines, you'll see them all in there. It's basically a break in the piping, with a mesh section in it, so that if water is inhaled, it will escape through the mesh section. I'm from Canada too, and it is a worry with the rain and snow.

The bypass valves only really work if you fully submerge the filter, and the vacuum tries to suck up water. The CAI will then try to draw air through the easiest route, and the bypass valve is much easier to draw air from, then a gallon of water right? But like I said, it's only handy if you like to drive in lakes and what not.......

as long as you don't COMPLETELY submerge the filter, or hit a large puddle @ a high rate of speed (and I mean BIG puddle, FAST) then you'll be ok

It's called Common Sense.... USE IT!!!! It may save your life or one of your passengers one day... Remember, thats why you have a streering wheel to turn around with...

We are driving cars not boats... Get your tape measure out, then check out how much clearance, you have between the ground and the bottom of the filter. If you in that much water, then you deserve to suffer the damage...

Were I live, driving into that deep of water, will get your BUTT thrown in jail. NO, IF and BUTTS about IT if you live!!!!

There are grave yards full of peeps, that thought thy could make it...

heavy rain is just as bad as standing water.

What kind of rubber housing do you have around your filter to keep it from sucking up water? I'm going to be putting a JRSC on my 95 Civic B16A in about 8 months, and bypass valves are frowned upon by AEM when used in conjuction with forced induction of any kind. Let me know what ya got and where you got it from...
