Vibrating sound, anyone know wat it could be?
2001 integra, I was fixing the drivers side window it was off track and every 15 to 20 minutes I could hear I vibrating sound that sounded like a phone only a little louder coming from somewhere in the back of the car. Does anyone know what it could be? Thanks.
It hard to diagnose vibrating sounds unless we are in the car when your driving. I would sugget having yourself In the backseat and a friend or so driving and listen to what it could be.
The sound would happen with the car completely off, it was a buzzing kind of sound that would happen every 15-20 min. It was like something electrical in the car would power on or something
Ok thanks I guess its the fuel pump then cuz the sound is different from the sound the antenna motor makes when I turn on the car or turn it off. But the sound happens while the car is turned off every 20 min wat would cause the fuel pump to do this?

An issue with the main relay could cause that, in theory. But, I can't imagine it actually doing so, as the relay should not receive any power when the ignition is off.
Ok so i did some research looked up schematics, but i found out that in 2002 there was a recall for all 2001 integras for a passenger airbag problem not really sure what the problem was but once i started looking at the wiring diagrams i noticed that the fuelpump and srs are on the same relay, so im taking the car up to the local honda dealer to see if it has got the recall and if it has then il have to continue diagnosing the buzzing sound
Man... that is EXACTLY what my teg is doing... I posted a thread about 5minutes ago the "hummimg" one, the cellphone vibrating is a better description. I swear I think it is something with the fuel pump...? But I dunno
but mine does it on startup, a few seconds after the engine starts it sounds like a cellphone is buzzing in the back of the car. it buzzes for about 2 seconds then I never hear it again until the next startup...? mine is a 96 gsr 2dr
it started it after i replaced the fuel filter, i checked the banjo bolt to make sure I aligned the marks right and it is exactly right so I have no clue...
yea thats exactly what I was thinking... only thing is, it didn't do that when I first got the car, it just started it after I replaced the fuel filter. I have been avg 35mpg so I think the fp is ok but like i said i dunno, I am new to tegs, i just sold my crx and it was easy to diagnose; just hit it with a hammer and its fixed lol
I've heard they can get noisier when they are going out. That said, mine's been buzzing at me for years. Of course, I also could be having a fuel pressure problem, although it hasn't influenced driveability or performance in a way I can detect. Mine does it after I start the car, or after going over hard bumps sometimes
. I'm sure it would also buzz occasionally if I left the engine running, because I think it has to keep re-pressurizing the system.
I don't remember if mine always made those noises, either. It kind of seems like it hasn't always, but I can't be sure since it's done it for so long.
