Default Opinions on AEM Short Ram for CIVIC SI 99 b16a2 dyno gain?

Well guys, right now, my car is runing a drop in K&N filter with no resonator.

would I get a real benefit on getting a AEM short ram? or is it a waste of money

my car has basically bolt-ons

it has a Hytech replica header 2.25 exhaust piping
FPR, VAFC II and nothing else right now.

would I get some good HP with an AEM short ram, or it will be the same to the K&N drop in filter with no resonator?

no, the cold air is better for power and a custom tuned intake length with a flow stack on the end is best.

yes but I think you'll need a 3" cai as I didn't think the flow stacks were made to fit anything smaller than 3". A typical cai for the b16a is 2.75" in diameter.

exactly just make sure you stay away from puddles of water or get that bypass seen to many engines messed up that way but it makes the most horse power.

For the record, I have driven with a CAI on my car for the last 9 years in loads of rain and have never had a problem with water ingestion. Keep your splash guards in place and don't drive in a puddle that has more in common with a lake than a puddle and you'll be fine. I use to own a large performance shop and sold many CAI's for years and to this day have never heard of anyone having issues with water until I came on this site.

Not likely to get much gains with an AEM short ram over what you have now. You'd be better off selling the VAFC II and putting the funds toward converting to OBD1 and getting a tune with a quality ROM editor (eCtune, Hondata, Neptune, etc.).

He may be able to get away with that where he lives but what about us here in the States that have to pass emissions?
