Default BPi velocity stack?

Is anyone running one of these with an AEM CAI? If so, what filter did you use and did everything fit inside the fenderwell easily?
What do you think, worth it or not?
Thanks

Do you rather mean before and after dyno runs?

BTW, CAIs don't do as well on a dyno as in a real world operation.

if you look at the af graph, it looks like the sri has better tuning compared to the v2

You can not simulate the effect of a CAI on a dyno. When the car is actually moving, you get colder air sucked up since it isn't coming from your engine bay like an SRI. On a dyno the car is not moving and just suctions up radiant air.

Thanks for the info guys I still think that cai will make more power, dyno doesn't tell it all. Either way I'm going to pick one up for sure now!

if you really believe that the CAI will make more power why dont you get cai instead of v stack?

and why waste money on something that's not gonna work for you

i'm not saying that v'stack is ****. .. just in your case scenario

You are comparting apples to oranges, you can run both at the same time like I do.

all i gotta say the length of the pipe will make differance in powerband . specially with the v-stack.

i defently tired it.. and didn't like it at all compared to my short ram + v stack setup.

cai with v stack felt like i lost alot of throttle response and short ram sounds much better

i think the longer the pipe the higher the peak power band
shorter the pipe the lower rpm power band

I already have the AEM CAI, just looking for a cheap way to make some more HP with it.

maybe I don't fully understand this whole Air Fuel ratio, but i have noticed in the past wiht my tunes that if you run leaner you tend to make alittle more power. that is what is happening here isn't it? i wonder how much power there once it is tuned. Of course, I do not know what AF ratio an RSX likes but if everyone else has their AF graphs it would be nice to post them as well.

RSXs motors always respond better to mods than B series motors.

Not bashing on anyone, just trying to understand it a little better

i agree about the air/fuel ratio. the change from 13.8 to 14.16 maybe not seem like much but it is.

from our dyno experience without changing anything on the car and leaning out the fuel curve will increase power.

14.16 is a little lean for my liking.

one of our racecars made close to 169whp at 13.8:1 and only 164 @ 13.4:1. we left it at 13.4:1 because we use a ram air headlight with shortram which will lean it out on the track anyway.

It depends on a lot of factors. Fuel being used, type of internals, load, etc.

I had mine go off the chart lean (past 18:1) on one pass and it still held together. BTW, shout out to the dyno operator that day who was watching the AF's and didn't shut it down. His words after the pass "man, I don't know how it didn't blow up on that one". Thanks.
