Default Painting Chrome Cold Air intake

Okay so I want to paint my chrome cold air intake, like a blue or red metallic. Yea i know its retarded but its scratched up and I like to do little things myself. My problem is after sanding it, i went to paint it, and there was almost like air bubbles or parts where the paint wouldn't stick. Is it oil or something, or is there a special primer I need for the paint to stick. Thanks guys!

Make sure you sand that chrome down real good then use an etching primer, its a primer made to be used over bare metal. The bubbles that your getting is a reaction from the surface most likely from oil or grease especially on a intake. make sure you clean the metal real good.
