car is a 97 civic lx, and the fan is not coming on until the temp gage reaches well over the normal halfway mark. it turns on at 3/4 way to the H RED MARK . the fan continues to run as the temperature remains in this range of 3/4. i find it odd, it worked fine just until tonite. i checked the relay for the fan and that checks out ok. engine coolant temp sensor, does that turn it on when it goes to half way? is their a high and low temp setting with that sensor that tells the fan to come on? is there a way to jump it in the mean time until i can fix the issue? thanks for your help!

 

yea u can jump it so the fan turns on wen u put the key in

 

if you want to just rig it till you fix it,you can just splice your fan wires into something that gets power when the car is on, it will run all the time but better than runing hot.
as far as your issue you coolant temp sensor may be starting to crap out and thats why its not coming on at normal temp.grap a new one and toss it in, not exoensive at all
