I have a 1993 Civic Hatchbatch with D16Z6 stock setup.

I got home one night, turned my car off.
came out the next day cranked it up and it was only running on one cylinder.

I changed the distributor and checked my ecu.
Plugs/Wires are all new.

Anyone have any suggestions?

how do you know you are only running on one cylinder? have you got any CEL's? does it sound like it is only firing on one cylinder have you checked spark or is it dumping fuel out like cylinders aren't firing or what?

 

well i checked my CELS and I am throwing a 10, 19, 22.... I know its running on one cylinder because i pulled plug wires 2, 3, and 4 out and it trys to crank. only when i leave the wire in cylinder one it will try to crank but when i pull it out it wont do anything but spin over. so i am only getting spark on the number one cylinder. I have no clue what to do now... we tried a brand new dizzy and new wires and it did the same thing..

I would say swap a known good dizzy and see if that corrects it

 

well i bought a brand new one and it's still only running off 1 cylinder.

any other things i can fix to make it run off all 4?

 

did you look up what the codes were for? i would go from there!

 

10 IAT - intake air temperature sensor
19 Automatic transmission lockup control valve
22 VTEC pressure valve

Could any of these cels make a car run on 1 cylinder?? I dont see why its throwing a 19 unless the ecu is an automatic ecu right? I know for a fact the IAT code cant do any of this... can the code 22 be my problem???? Please help

 

I wonder if the injectors on 2, 3, and 4 are not firing?
