People pulling my ebrake up really hard over numerous times have caused it to become really lose. I have to pull it up really high for it to engage and it doesn't even hold strong.

What can I do?

 

You should first jack the back of the car up and set it on jack stands. Then pull your ebrake up until you here one click. After that, take off the center console and underneth you brake handle you will see a cable attached to a metal paece holding it in place. On the front of the metal peace is a washer that you will turn clockwise slowly. For this to work right you will need someone in the back rotating the tires slowly while you adjust the washer. Stop when the person rotating the tires feels a slight drag. The your done, go test it out and make any adjustments needed. If I made any errors someone correct me

Does it matter which way the wheels should be turned? And do both rear wheels need to be turned at the same time, in which case I might need 2 extra people?

 

You want to turn the wheels foward, and yea you should turn both wheels just to be sure. It does help alot when you see pictures of what I am talking about, so i suggest you buy a haynes repair manuel. You can get them at autozone or automotive place,and any book store.

 

No there is only one adjustment ffor both wheels and it right under the e brake handle
