So when Im driving my 1991 Honda Civic every so often I push the gas but the car doesn't really accelerate. I'll press harder and suddenly the car WILL get gas and it surges ahead quickly.

Can anyone tell me where to start looking for the problem? I'm not getting any error codes from the ECU.

could be it simply needs a tune up. when's the last time you changed the plugs and wires?

 

Ive only owned the car for 4 months and I haven't changed the plugs or wires.
