Default Civic DX, CX ever come with sunroof?

I just bought a 1994 civic dx coupe. It has a sunroof in it but it does not look stock, and the button is installed overhead. My question is, did the civic dx come with the sunroof as an option? or is this some type of aftermarket install? thanks

CX, DX never. What you have is an aftermarket unit. Watch for leaks!

Are the dimensions the same? Most people that put an oem sunroof in replace the entire roof.

eh, if there are no leaks then i would not mess with it unless your willing to RISK having bigger issues. dimensions must be exact though to avoid these type of problems. also wiring it up sometimes is a pain in the a**. lol

Good for you. Don't bump a 5 year old, dead thread, especially when you have nothing of value to add to said thread.

Something that may be of value to the thread. My Canadian CX Hatchback came with the manual flip up moonroof. Looks stock to me, the car has only had 2 owners prior to me and they kept it all stock, I'm the one modding it.

It's a 95 so maybe an option for the Canadian 95 Hatchbacks. EH2.

With deeper research it seems it was never factory but possibly a dealer option. Would that still be considered stock if it was done by the Honda Dealer?

Mine the seal is on the roof, not the glass and like I said, it looks like a stock pop-up sunroof.

Don't know if you were refering to me? If so that info is valueable. He was asking if those model civics ever came with a sunroof/moon roof. In which they didn't. I was saying I got a 95 with a moon roof (which was obviously an aftermarket install) with the switch up above the rear-view mirror. This was done by the dealership when the car was built. It basically gave the buyer an option to have better features without paying for the EX or Si cost. Everything was installed up top cause it is an easier most cost effective install. Which mine is fine( no leaks, is a moon roof since it is done with glass and not a chunk of steel.) Only problem with the aftermarket installs is the type of motor they used burns out faster, as did mine. So if yours is an aftermarket installed sun/moon roof and is not working then 99.9% of the time its the motor burned out and nothing else. And any diy'er can replace these motors with great ease.

Finally looked it up today.

This is the aftermarket brand sun roof that was installed in my eg hatchback:

http://www.sunroofdoctor.com/funsport.htm

And I think I located the business that did it and being it still doesn't leak and works perfectly. I might do the measurements and see if I can order another one and take it to that shop that specializes in sunroof installs and get them to put it in on my wifes 93. She'll be stoked when she can get extra air.
