Brake/rear suspension problem.. see post for details and questions..
Ok, so I happened to be driving home from work tonight, with the radio off to enjoy the sounds of my car. I slow down at a stop light and when I release the brake and here a click/clunk sound coming from the rear passenger side.. freaked me out a little, so I tried to replicate it a couple times..
it appears, that when I put firm pressure on the brakes going 35mph or less, and then release them, this noise occurs.. there is no unusual vibration at any speed, and going over bumps doesn't cause any noise.. light braking also doesn't cause the noise.. when they cooled, I tried to wiggle the caliper a little, but it didn't seem to move..
any ideas on what I should check, or what this could be?
thanks!

had the wheel off today and the pads weren't moving around at all, best i could tell.. and there were no "visible" problems.. meaning nothing looked out of the ordinary..
anybody else might have an idea on this?

how about the shims between the pads? maybe they move around a little?
or the brake pad "clips" (i think thats what there called) that go onto the caliper braket that hold the pads in place. maybe they move around?

how about warped hub? my friend with a civic had a problem with normal constant sounds like you describe.
maybe a warped rotor from your description...

would the shims or "clips" moving make that much of a noise? I mean it's audible while I'm driving, but hard to hear over the engine unless I take it out of gear..
soup ****, what's the best way for me to tell if the rotor/hub is warped? is this something I can eyeball?
If it is that, wasn't it said elsewhere that autozone rotors are suitable replacements?
